Introduction: Pride You Can See

Some of the most powerful advertising doesn't sell a product — it celebrates the people who already love it. That was the insight behind this Ford SUV campaign, shot in Los Angeles by automotive photographer and director Mauricio Candela in collaboration with Zubi Advertising and The Blur Office.

The concept was simple and human: Ford owners take pride in their vehicles. Not just when they drive them — but when they wash them. That ritual of care, attention to every detail, the satisfaction of seeing your SUV shine in the driveway — that's the emotional truth this campaign was built to capture.

The Creative Approach: Lifestyle Meets Automotive Photography

This wasn't a traditional automotive advertising campaign with studio lights, perfect reflections, and cars on pedestals. This was lifestyle automotive photography — real owners, real driveways, real moments of pride.

Mauricio Candela approached each shot with the same philosophy that drives his commercial work: find the authentic emotion first, then build the frame around it. The result is a series of images that feel personal and relatable, while maintaining the high production standards expected of a major Ford advertising campaign.

Shot entirely on location in Los Angeles, the campaign delivered still photography, motion content, and digital assets — all designed for social media and year-round digital use.

The Details That Made It Work

Great automotive lifestyle photography lives in the details — the soap on a hood, a hand carefully wiping a side mirror, the satisfied look of an owner stepping back to admire their work. These are the moments that connect with audiences because they recognize themselves in them.

By combining the technical precision of automotive photography with the human storytelling of lifestyle work, Mauricio created a campaign that felt less like an ad and more like a reflection of real Ford owner culture.
